When Will The Patriots Address The Offense?
The New England Patriots spent $290 million dollars this week in free agency. None of that money was spent on a Left Tackle or Wide Receiver 1 that would help the franchise Quarterback, Drake Maye. With big name receivers flying off the board, this is what’s left for free agents.
Cooper Kupp is out, “too expensive” from all reports with an asking price of $15 million. With around $45 million left in cap space it boggles my mind that they just don’t pay Kupp. However, you need a veteran receiver on this team and the one name that stands out on this list is Amari Cooper who will be 31 when the season starts. His best years are behind him but his leadership skills are not. A great guy to get in the wide receiver room to help mentor the youth in the room.
The other glaring hole is Left Tackle and this is what’s is currently available.
WOOF! Not a great list and with Cam Robinson being on the top of it, you should take a gamble. We are going in to year two with Drake Maye and must protect him at all costs and we have yet to see this new regime do that. Are we waiting for the draft? If so, Woof and company better hit it out of the park with every pick. We can not be gambling with the health and future of Drake Maye!
