What’s the next move?

The Patriots announced today the least surprising news, they signed Bill O’Brien. That by far was the biggest need for the team moving forward. Getting someone who actually knows how to call plays and make a mediocre Quarterback look better than he is. But now what? What is the biggest need after signing O’Brien.

Someone to protect Mac Jones (or who ever is behind center for the Patriots.) That line was dog shit last year. Guys swapping positions from left tackle to right tackle, injuries galore and just no real direction. Dante Scarnecchia will be 75 years old in February and says he isn’t coming back and there is no one in the organization that you could promote within. I enjoy football but have zero clue who is available for that but what I do know is that Isaiah Wynn is not going to be your starting tackle moving forward. With your first round selection go after the best available and hopefully restructure Trent Brown and throw him back on the right side. Give Mac time in the pocket will make the receivers you have better, who ever that may be.

The other talk is trading picks to go get Deandre Hopkins and I say no thank you. If we are going to go get a slam dunk do it on the defensive side of the ball and get yourself a true number 1 shut down corner. You play Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Jonathan Jones did great last year but he isn’t a number 1 guy and being a free agent and having the Jones boys coming off hot rookie seasons do you need to over pay in free agency for Jonathan Jones?

Tell me adding Ramsey as your number 1 and Jonathan Jones on the other side how scary that would be? Would this be the best pairing in the AFC East? You had a top 10 defense already and adding just Ramsey could put you in the best in the league category.

The rest would be having Bill draft his ass off and hoping with a restructured coaching staff, that may get some free agents to come play since you do have $35 million in cap space.
