The Vibes Suck

Immediate Reaction to Patriots loss to the Jets, 24 -3. This team fucking sucks. There is zero improvement or difference from last year’s 4 win team under Bill Belichick. The anointed head Coach Jerod Mayo has taken over with the same staff, same front office, and the same players minus Matthew Judon plus the addition of Jacoby Brissett and some rookies.

Week 1 was the anomaly. I issued this warning, “is this sustainable, or will it suck”? In Week 1 you have all off season to prepare. The Bengals have been annually slow starting. They had their own off the field issues to deal with and our offensive staff was familiar with them. It was an anomaly. Week two exposed the coaching staff’s ability to manage a game. Week three exposed the personal on the field. When playing from behind this team has less than a snow ball’s chance in hell. How is that different from last year? At least last year the team was in positions to win until Mac Jones would throw it away.

The defense is susceptible to decent quarterback play if they want to play zone because they have no pass rush. They don’t have the personnel to play man to man. The total yards were 400 to 139 in the 24 - 3 loss to the Jets. There was not a single ounce of competitiveness showcased in this game from the Patriots. The coaching staff had nothing to keep their team in the game with a lesser roster and that lesser roster simply could not keep up with Rodgers, Sauce, Wilson, and Co.

This loss to the Jets was our first true insight into the disservice Eliot Wolf has done to this roster. The first of many I would suspect. It acts as a stark reminder that this team is way closer to the 4 win finish of 2023 with Bill Belichick than the 2022 8 win team under Bill Belichick.

This team sucks and there is nothing fixing that this year. Nope, not even going down the Drake Maye road.
