The Red Sox are signing Freddie Freeman

Did you learn nothing from the Max Scherzer charade last year? Thanks for the clicks.

Look, John Henry has certainly spent plenty of money on the Red Sox over the years. However, that seems like it’s coming to an end. Most of baseball is starting to use the Luxury tax line as a salary cap and the Sox are one of the biggest offenders of going right to the line, but not over it.

Couple that ideology with the signing of Chaim Bloom to run this team like high end thrift shop and you should get your head out of the clouds when it comes to the Sox signing big long term contracts. We’ll be lucky to see a long term extension for Devers.

So, don’t allow your hopes and dreams to be crushed with the Freddie Freeman’s of the world. We are in more of a “vintage” discounted Bobby Dalbec era of Red Sox baseball.
