Bills fans should be disgraced
I guess you don’t get rich being dumb. You get rich being a greedy slime bucket.
Terry Pegula is the owner of the Buffalo Bills. He is worth roughly $6 Billion through the gas and energy field. This is the guy who is about to accept $1 billion dollars from the state of NY to build his new stadium. How did we get here? Extortion. Mr. Pegula threatened to move the beloved Bills out of Buffalo if the tax payers didn’t pony up their hard earned cash for a state of the art stadium. Hey, at least they only had to wait 25 years for the Bills to actually be good to pull this stunt.
New York State Governor Kathy Hochul is expected to announce that the Buffalo Bills are close to staying in western New York–again, officially… at least as far as a new stadium is concerned.
Fears of the team actually leaving the region have long been quelled since Terry and Kim Pegula purchased the club.
However, a stadium was needed to firmly lock that up, and one of the final hurdles is state taxpayer dollars.
What an absolute racket. Do Bills fans even really need a new stadium? What happened to the wholesome, proud, badass Bills Mafia? Shouldn’t they be able to watch their games in a dirt pile if it came to it? What happened to the love of the game? A couple decent seasons with a good QB and these folks have gone soft.
Turns out it could be more taxpayer dollars than ever handed over to a team via the report.
According to the New York Post, Hochul will announce that Erie County and New York State have agreed to pay nearly $1 billion toward a $1.4B stadium in Orchard Park.
Per The Post, the Las Vegas Raiders’ new stadium was handed $750M in government funding. Another $1.1B came from the Raiders. The building opened in 2020.
The funding for the stadium comes prior to the state budget which needed to be submitted to state legislature by April 1.
Ah, yes the state budget. Isn’t there something better this BILLION dollars could be spent on in the state of NY? Like Manhattan not flooding with a rain storm, better roads, public health care, child education? Naw. High class restaurants, champaign rooms, and tiaras for all! Go Bills.
As a one time fake, but also very real Bills fan, if they make this a dome I will start a revolution. It will end with Terry Pegula being destroyed through a table.
