The Dysfunctional Duo
The Patriots season ended Sunday with a 35-23 loss to the Buffalo Bills who were coming off a whirl wind week. A loss was something all Patriots fans saw coming and some (smart ones) were hoping for the season to end like this. For weeks we have heard reports that Robert Kraft would be making some big decisions once the offseason hit.
“My understanding is (Kraft has) made comments around the building that basically indicate he’s not happy with where the offensive coaching staff is right now, and I think that that could lead to shuffling at more than just the play-caller spot. I mean, we could be talking about a new coordinator coming in with multiple new position coaches. I think there are several guys on the staff that are going to be reviewed after the year.”-Albert Beer
With that the first big shoe to drop was an email that was sent to all season ticket holders from the owner of the New England Patriots, Robert Kraft.
FIRE THE MUSKETS!
Without saying it, Kraft put Belichick on blast for the poor performance from his staff. Yikes! Is Kraft wrong? Absolutely not. He let Bill do the shopping and had full trust in him to do the right thing and he failed, not only with this season but with the past three when he brought in Cam Newton instead of letting the kid, Jarrett Stidham play. So, what would Bill do in response to this? Well, first he came out and said he will be back for the 2023 season. And then he had this comment that had all of Patriots fans feel like their parents are fighting and everyone needs to pick a side on who is right and who is wrong.
Fast Forward to the 10:20 mark in the video where the good stuff and bus driving begins.
For a franchise that has had so much success, it’s crazy how these two are just throwing fire at one another in the media. Everyone claims that Bill won’t be done until he says he is done, but I think after this past season along with comments by both of them, Bill may officially be on the hot seat starting with every little move he makes this offseason. For the first time ever I think Robert is going to tell Bill who he wants (such as QB and OC) and how to build this team back to a winning franchise and not the laughable one we saw this year.
