Steph Curry has ruined basketball
Yes, Steph Curry is probably the greatest shooters we will see in our life time, but I can still say he has ruined the game that I love. Maybe its my age but back in my day… the three point shot wasn’t something every kid wanted to be able to do. It was to be able to drive to the basket and make that tough layup against a bigger defender, or take that corner shot for two. But this past year I coached my sons 9 and 10 year old team and every kid wanted to jack up 3’s like Steph. Let me just tell you that out of the 10 kids only 2 could stand and shoot and hit the rim the rest of them had to run like their lives depended on it and huck it.
Like Magic, MJ, Kobe, and LeBron, Steph Curry has changed the way we play the game, we can even see it with our own Boston Celtics. Living and dying by the 3 point shot is something every team from NBA to the Collegiate level and even high school. Steph is a generational player that you would want your kids to cheer for. Good marriage, never been arrested, not a total insufferable douche. The way he can score just crossing half court is mind blowing. But now because he does it, like kids wanting to be MJ, Kobe, and Lebron they want to shoot like Steph and its going to hurt a generation of kids growing up trying to emulate him. We need Zion to be good so kids want to put ankle weights on at a young age to get hops like it was back in the day for me.
