The Patriots starting offense stunk, what a breathe of fresh air
Its pretty amazing how low the bar is for the offense this year. I watch Mac Jones barely miss on a couple mid level shows and almost jumped out of my shorts.
Compared to the predictable mundane, dysfunctional offensive strategy under the walking nutsack of Patricia and Judge this was like the Greatest Show on turf.
Quick hitters. Good and bad:
Bad: Offensive Line. Greg Bedard had them for negative plays on 9 of the 12 the "starters" were out there for.
Good news is they werent real starters. Trent Browns's very fist play from scrimage this year was a false start. How fucking perfect?! But between Brown, strange, Andrews. oewnu that oline should be in good shape. They have a designated coach to lead them in Klemm. Im not too worried, yet.
Good: Mac Jones although not perfect is comfortable. He clearly has control over the offense. His moxy and pep is back. He looked a little sped up, but with 60% pressure thats too be expected. He was still able to connect on some big 3rd downs and was barley off on two big plays to henry and parker. I have seen most pros place most of the blame on the recievers on those two plays
The Patriots will go as Mac Jones goes. He is their ceiling. If he matches his rookie year production they are a 10 win team in the playoffs. Of he takes a step forward they are competing for the division.
Good: give kendrick Bourne the ball. For this guy to be buried last year is more testament to how sweaty those nutsacks were with suck. The kid is a baller and has a connection to Mac.
Bad: where is juju? Hopefully he's ramping up. Even if he cant be a break out guy they need a sticks mover.
The fist sight of a real offense only deserves a 1/2 chub, but at least we're seeing some daylight after an entire season turtling inside our own bodies. Expect OBrien's unit to continue to grow through out the season. If they can be efficient, turn over free, and minimally pick up enough 1st downs to keep the defense fresh we're looking at a competitive team. The next team we should see any of these mediocre talents is week 1 vs Philly. Brady night
