The Celtics Bigs Problem

The Boston Celtics are still 2 months out before starting the 2023-2024 season against the New York Knicks but as I was scrolling through the schedule I noticed some BIG problems that may face the Celtics this year.

16 back to backs this year! Last year the most was 14 by the Phoenix Suns. Who pissed Adam Silver off from the Celtics to deserve this. I bring this up because with no on knowing the outcome of Kristops Porzingis and his foot injury, the Celtics will be trying to get a lot out of Robert Williams, who has his share of injury history and did not play in back to backs when he returned last year. And 38 year old Al Horford.

The Celtics depth chart at the 4 and 5 after those 3 are not very good.

Oshae Brissett- 7.4 ppg /4.2 rpg /0.8 apg

Luke Kornet- 4.9 ppg /2.7 rpg /0.9 apg

Sam Hauser- 5.2 ppg /2.2 rpg /0.8 apg

Ppg-Points Per Game

Rpg-Rebounds Per Game

Apg-Assists Per Game

These are all career numbers so with the injury to Porzingis it means one of these guys will need to be spelling Time Lord or Big Al.

With all that being said and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Brad should be trying to use one of their 6 trade exceptions to bring in someone who can put up minutes and be a filler incase one of those guys goes down which will of course end up happening.
