More Questions Like These at Press Conferences
We live in a shitty world so once you sprinkle some humor on a shitty situation it tends to make it funny and go viral. That’s exactly what happened today. It has been a two week manhunt for Daniel Cavalcante, a 34 year old murderer who escaped the Chester County Prison where he was being housed. Lt. Col. George Bivens held a press conference to explain that Cavalcante was captured and taken into custody and that’s when Michael Rainey asked one of the most important questions that anyone asked at the press conference, “Was there any concern he would team up with another small man to step inside a trench coat, Little Rascals’ style?”
With all this I thought to myself, what other press conferences did the press just whiff and not ask the hard hitting questions? The first one that comes to mind is back when Bill Clinton was being peppered with the Monica Lewinsky questions about having sex in the Oval Office.
Here’s a question that should have been asked, “Bill was she good? follow up did she tell you she didn’t want to swallow or you just shot your shot?” Who cares about the other stuff, this is what the people want and need to know.
Another press conference that the press whiffed at asking the important questions. OJ Simpson always got peppered with, “Why’d you do it OJ? Why did you kill Ron and Nicole?” He was never going to answer that truthfully. So why not ask him why the Houston Oilers defense was his Achilles heel? He only average 36 yards in 6 meetings against the Oilers I am sure that he would love to speak on that.
The last one is something that when this trial was happening would always cross my mind.
Yes, Casey Anthony is a horrible person. Yes, she killed her daughter and is crazy but Casey?
Still kind of want to know even though she doesn’t look that great anymore, would help to put closure of that time of my life.
The press can learn a lot from this 10 second clip today. Ask the hard hitting questions even if it means you will be escorted out of the building because you don’t have a “press pass”. Bravo Michael, BRAVO!
