Ime D-Railed the Celtics season
What a cluster fuck. My mother always told me bad shit comes in 3’s. Welp this is a wopping 3rd shitty thing to happen to the Celtics after Dino Gallinari goes down with an ACL and Time Lord is sidelined with knee surgery. Now we are looking at a ONE YEAR suspension for the head coach. UPDATE: Possible resignation firmly on the table.
We certainly don’t know all the facts here. We can’t. This is an internal decision for the Celtics. Nothing to do with the league. So, there are going to submarine their Championship contending season because their head coach got horned up broke an internal misconduct rule? This was a consensual relationship according to the reporting. Of course Udoka fucked up. If the Celtics had a policy not to get handsy with co-workers he crossed that line per the reports. Also, he cheated on his Fiance of 8 years who they share a kid with. Moral clause fuck up too. But, a year suspension? There absolutely has to be more to uncover here with some nefarious shit included. And if so. Then fire his ass.
What’s the fall out?
Joe Mazzula is expected to be the candidate for interm head coach.
We have heard rumblings Ime could resign. Honestly, if they are going to can him for a year any way it makes a lot of sense just to cut ties instead of the suspended head coach story looming over the whole season. How’d that work out for Sean Payton and the Saints?
How do Tatum and Brown handle it? Ime was their guy. Can a team that is constantly living on the cusp of immaturity handle a new coach with all this turmoil? Will they agree with the discipline handed down to Ime from the team? Is everyone just expected to wait until next year to make a run if Udoka does come back? What if they go and win it all? Then Coach “Hard On” is welcome back into the fold willy nilly?
Again, just such a cluster fuck. So many unanswered questions, but one thing is absolutely certain. The start to this Celtics season is going to be anything but smooth. They have to deal with the injuries, new egos, a hog slinging coach, and not to mention the hang over of losing the NBA Finals. Plus expectations. You’re Vegas’ odd on favorite to win it all this year. (Might want to hedge that bet, now.) Wyc Grosbek already tried to couch those expectations.

Now, we can see why he said that in anticipation for this news drop. Wyc has to be so pissed. They basically let the players pick the next coach pushing Danny out the door and Brad to the front office because he had a bunch of wining bitches for players. And the guy they bring in tarnishes his franshise’s reputation in a calender year. Not something the Celtics “Governers” take lightly. Unlike some owners in town (John Henry) Wyc and Co. have a deep connection the the Celtics and care about the success and reputation greatly. I’m sure it also broke their heart because of how good he seemed to be.
Oh by the way, Celtics brass had this information all summer? Do we need a Go Fund Me for the Celtics to get a fucking calendar? Time Lord’s surgery and Ime’s dick pick suspension dropping a week before training camp when they’ve had all the information for months aint a great look. Maybe they were trying to figure out how to cover it up? I don’t know. Steven A. takes it racial, but his greater point is heard. Did the Celtics leak it so they could sully his name? Making it easier to move on from him. Easier for fans. Easier for players. That’s some low level Busch League shit that goes against everything I just said Wyc stands for if true. Bottom line Ime is an idiot either way.
This has not been a great week for the Celtics or their fans. And to think how high we were all riding after the Brogdon and Gallo signings. At least now we get to speculate when exactly the Jays force their way of this shit show.
