It finally happened and the saga of Matthew Judon and the Patriots is over after not offering the 32 year old pass rusher a contract extension, they traded him to the Atlanta Falcons for a 2025 3rd round pick. This was a move that needed to happen. But, this was a little late in my opinion.

If Wolf and company weren’t going to extend Judon, and wasn’t apart of this rebuild, why wouldn’t you have traded him during the draft in April? That’s my only complaint about this. You brought a disgruntled player in to camp where everyone of his teammates coming off injuries just like himself were getting extensions. Making first year head coach, Jerod Mayo, answer questions from the media, kicking Judon out of practice, and who else knows what was going on in the locker room with Judon.

This is a good deal and now there will be less drama for the rest of training camp. Coach Vibes can now continue his positive attitude and won’t have to answer any questions about unhappy players. Here’s to the future.
