I shouldn’t be falling in love with this Celtics team, but here I am.

I’ve called Jaylen my guy for since they drafted Tatum. Of course Tatum is the more naturally gifted player I’ve just always like Jaylen mentality and attitude. He has improved significantly every year of his career. Jaylen Brown is the leader of this team. Or at least he should be.

The one guy I won’t fall for it is Marcus Smart. He’s pulled the wool too many times. I get it new coach new system new Marcus blah blah blah. Jaylen just told you he’s the same guy. He’s a good player who thinks he is a great player. He believes he deserves a seat at the table with Brown and Tatum simply because he has been here the longest. That misguided sentiment leaks out in the locker room and on the court. When things are going well it looks good. When they are not chairs are getting tossed at each other in locker rooms. Smart is going to have to prove it to me for a full season or look really good early and move on Mr. Stevens.

Ime doesn’t drink. That’s my only beef. This guy has my full attention. Doesn’t he sound exactly like what Brad Stevens lacked? Identifying roles and holding players accountable. Again, I shouldn’t be heart thumping, but off I go with Sobah Udokah.

Jayson Tatum will have a true break out season. Not just numbers and All NBA bullshit. He will be one of the best players in the NBA. That’s my prediction. Also it’s fantastic to see he is distancing himself from the Kyrie Cult. https://www.simplemindssports.com/blogs/euohmdai78q2xzb3jdxkf9fjduwq0l
