Hello Old Friend

Tonight we welcome back Zdeno Chara in Boston. Big Z spent 15 years with the Bruins. Went to 3 Stanley Cup Finals and brought 1 home to Bean Town. Chara is all over the record books for the Bruins.

He is 6th in games played for the B’s,

8th in plus minus

9th in Power Play Goals

2nd in PP Goals against

More importantly he wore the C and fully embraced the City. He will go down as one of the greats. And unfortunately his first game back will be in an empty stadium. Get freaking bent Covid.

What a sham, man. The Garden would have been rocking with ovation for this guy. This was not a controversial player coming back to town. There is not a single fan in New England with an ax to grind with Zdeno Chara, except Ray. But, we don’t call him the “Bottom of the Totempole of Dumb” for nothing. It should have been 20,000+ fans going berserk for one of their favorite sons.

This got me thinking. Tom Brady will make his way back to Gillette next season. And although his relationship with the region is a little more checkered this is will be an All-Time moment. Not only for the fans, but also for Tom. So, to say I am hoping for Johnson and Johnson to get their baby shampoo making asses in gear with this vaccine business would be an understatement. Not to make light of the pandemic and all the tragedy that has come with it, but we do have football coming. And Brady will be in town. Let’s put on our Sunday best and a happy face, shall we?
