With the QB carousel dying down after a crazy few weeks, Vegas now has odds of who will be the man behind center for The Patriots in 2021. His name is Marcus Mariota. I am not mad at this. A few reasons why.
Josh McDaniels has wanted a dual threat QB for some time. When he was the head coach of Denver he drafted Tim Tebow. Although that was a horrible disaster some other notable guys he wanted in New England were Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson. Both are dual threat guys and one has been league MVP.
Marcus has gotten great praise by the man who recruited him to Oregon. He also happens to be good friends with Bill Belichick, one Chip Kelly. Mariota’s tenure in Tennessee was a failure but if he comes to the Patriots hopefully a change of scenery and a fresh start with two of the best minds in the NFL will help him get back to that Heisman level he had in college.
