The Great Regression era is over

The walking nut sack of Patricia and Judge are out! The only diet Skinny Ray could stay committed to was a healthy dose of shitty offensive football. Thankfully the Lions stopped paying him this year so it opened the door for an adult to take over in New England.

Just as a quick reminder the Patriots offense went from a top 10 program to not worthy of the CFL in the 80’s.

Patriots statistical demise 2021 - 2022

With essentially the same roster the team dropped an average of 14 spots in the statistical rankings So, not great.

Billy O’Brien coming in it checks off more boxes than questions. We know he will not only be the OC, but the QB as well. A similar role to what McDaniels had here for many years. There are reports that the Patriots are not done adding to their coaching staff. We are expected to see additions for run game coordinator and passing game coordinator. A new o-line coach is expected. Adrian Klemm’s name is being tossed around for that position. Shawn Jefferson is a name coming back into play as well. Bottom line is the Patriots offense will have a firm foundation in which to build upon with an experience and at least competent coaching staff. It feels and sounds as if the building as already begun.

The foundation starts with O’Brien and Mac. There is a little bit too much being made about their relationship. They shared a cup of coffee on Mac’s way out the door in Alabama. But, that doesn’t mean their football minds are not already melded like the stringing tenticals of the Avatar world. Mac learned the Pats offense under McDaniels in which O’Brien coached and damn near perfected with his time in New England 2007 - 2011. In fact in 2011 as OC Billy inplamented the first wave of the 2 TE offense that went on to dominate the 2nd Pats dynasty. Hmmm? Where is there a shit ton of money invested in the Patriots roster with little to no production?

In the Alabama offense Mac Jones through for 4,500 yards, 41 TDs, 4 INTs, and a 77% completion. O’Brien in his 2nd year with the team lead that offense to 41.1 points during the 2022 season (fourth in the nation) and scored 39.9 points per game in 2021 (ranking sixth).

The familiarity with the systems being run goes beyond coach and QB too. Captain David Andrews will benefit immensely getting back to this style offense and in turn his offensive line will too. It can’t be understated how much better off the team is from a fundamental stand point when it comes to the system. From the scathing Herald report we just got it was confirmed that the system last year never even got off the ground. They quite literally didn’t have enough plays designed to play an NFL game.

“One source described a typical training camp practice under [Josh] McDaniels involving the installation of 25 pages worth of fresh run plays, another 25 of passing plays and upwards of 40 pages for the offensive line learning protection schemes.”

Under Patricia and Judge? Those numbers were cut by roughly half.”

"A lot of guys were getting worried because when we were in the middle of camp, we were wondering what the plan was for our offense. Because we hadn't put enough install in," a source told the Herald. "We had a couple protections, a couple core run plays, but our pass game didn't have much in it." SOURCE

Scratch 2022 down as an INCOMPLETE grade for everyone on the offense. Except Isaiah Wynn. That bust can watch the door hit his undersized ass on the way out. The rest of the lot were held under siege by stupidity, arrogance, and incompetence. But, fear no more. Billy O’boring his here to rid us of this calamity they called a passing game. He shall provide a familiar yet steady path forward for us to finally be able to FAIRLY rail on Mac Jones for being shit.
