Coach Vrabel made it move for all of New England

Talk about night and day. A year ago we were given Jerod Mayo and Robert Kraft walking side by side in to the press room, smiling from ear to ear, throwing shade at everything Bill Belichick did in New England for 20 plus years. When asked about his plan, they had none, just that it’s going to be different. No more mean coach, instead Jerod will be the players friend and no one will be singled out if they make a mistake.

One year later Coach Vrable, who has experience at other franchises and in the college game, comes to the podium and says, “no more entitlement, you will earn shit here!”

Exactly what all of New England wanted to hear, a familiar tone of no bullshit, we aren’t buddies, I am your boss, I want the best out of you, when we go into battle we will be shoulder to shoulder fighting and I will be there helping you win that battle. It won’t be easy, it will be hard but if you listen to me, we will win.

Not only was the media impressed but former players and teammates of Coach Vrabel came out and gave their approval for the new hire. Saying how he gets down to the smallest detail and has a high IQ for the game of football. Teddy Bruschi said he was the smartest player he ever played with. Taylor Lewan, former Titans player and podcast host of, “Bussin With The Boys” talked about how his time with the Titans and Coach Vrabel, “The culture is going to be incredible. You guys are going to win games. Those tough, one-score games, you’re going to win them,” Lewan said in a video h/t Boston.com writer Conor Ryan. “That’s how Mike Vrabel works. That guy is going to have his team knowing the ins and outs.” something that this team was missing last year.

Day 1 as coach, Mike Vrabel hit a grand slam in my opinion. Addressed a lot of the problems, said that we are undefeated and as a terrible team need to get better. He also didn’t put a timeline on things, saying that championships are the goals but knows that looking at what he has, those goals won’t be hit in year 1. Now, the next step is setting up your staff and hopefully they are guys that have held coordinator positions before and not first time guys.
