The Patriots have a Plan
The boys are live again to run through the onslaught of Patriots coaching and front office hires. Scuttle butt and draft rumors are heating up as well. The NBA deadline was a bit of a dud, but the Celtics made a couple moves. The Red Sox make another non baseball headline that sets Rich off. This or That with Chief Bobby has us building sand castles and the WNBA shouldn’t get paid the same as the NBA in Simplest Minds of the Week. PLUS, BOTPOD learns e-mail.

Welcome
The Patriots have a Plan
Front office and coaching staff rounding out
Head coach: Jerod Mayo
Offensive coordinator: Alex Van Pelt
Quarterbacks: T.C. McCartney
Running backs: TBD
Wide receivers: TBD
Tight ends: TBD
Offensive line: Scott Peters
Senior offensive assistant: Ben McAdoo
Defensive coordinator: DeMarcus Covington
Defensive line: Jerry Montgomery
Linebackers: TBD
Cornerbacks: Mike Pellegrino
Safeties: Brian Belichick
Special teams coordinator: Jeremy Springer
Special teams assistant: TBD
Out of the coaches listed here, only Brian Belichick and Mike Pellegrino currently are set to return in the same roles they held a year ago. There is a theoretical chance that others such as wide receivers coach Troy Brown, tight ends coach Will Lawing, and assistant quarterbacks coach Evan Rothstein eventually join them, but them eventually getting replaced by outside hires is the expectation (hence the TBD label next to their positions).
Personal department taking shape
Director of scouting: Eliot Wolf
Assistant director of scouting: Marshall Oium
Director of player personnel: Matt Groh
Director of pro scouting: Steve Cargile
Director of college scouting: Camren Williams
Senior personnel advisor: Patrick Stewart
Senior personnel executive*: Alonzo Highsmith
Personnel executive*: Bobby Brown
Wolf is leading the charge as a quasi-GM, but he is not the only man involved in what the Patriots claim to be a collaborative effort to run the personnel department.
The other big names are Matt Groh and Patrick Stewart: the former is focused primarily on college scouting these days, with the latter involved prominently with both the pro and college departments. The recently-added Alonzo Highsmith and Bobby Brown will also factor into the mix, but it remains to be seen what their titles and responsibilities will be.

Draft rumors
•Colin Cowherd is getting the New England fan base rock hard.
•Jeremy Fowler came out and said that the Minnesota Vikings have been scouting the top QBs in this years draft. In order to get up and grab one of these guys they would need to make a trade with someone in the top 3. The Patriots have the 3rd pick in the draft.
•cowherd then threw out this trade proposal:
Vikings would send-Justin Jefferson, 2024 1st round pick, and 2025 first round pick
Patriots- 2024 1st round pick.
Boston media and yours truly is running with it. Running with it so much that who says no to this? Vikings have the next Justin Jefferson after drafting Jordan Addison last year. He will be locked up for the next 4 years. The Vikings don’t want to pay Justin Jefferson a big contract. The Patriots desperately need star power since you really can’t market around anyone on this team right now.
Is there anyone else worth trading the number 3 pick away for realistically?
Rich’s draft strategy would work perfectly here. At 11 draft a LT trade your 3rd round pick to the bears for Justin Fields. That would be an incredible start for the Mayo regime if they can pull it off.
The only thing would be if the pats don’t want to pay Jefferson who is on his last year of his deal. He is projected to get north of $30 million a year.
Trades- swap 3 for 9 plus fields and swap 3 for 11 plus Jefferson

AFTERNOON DELIGHT
The Red Sox are finally Streamable
Netflix and the Red Sox announced Wednesday that the team will be the subject of the forthcoming documentary series. Additionally, Netflix will be producing a documentary retelling the tale of the 2004 Red Sox, who famously ended an 86-year World Series drought after becoming the first team in baseball history to come back from a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series.
According to Netflix, the documentary series will "provide viewers a window into what it takes to compete across a season's ups and downs in one of the most rabid sports environments. Netflix will have unprecedented access to players, coaches and executives throughout the 2024 season and the docuseries will debut in 2025."

SIMPLEST MINDS OF THE WEEK
Michael Porter Jr
Michael Porter Jr. was the latest guest on The Pivot and has made some serious waves for his comments on the WNBA.
Complex - "I see from both sides. I know these females want to get paid more, and they’re very talented. But so is a famous ping-pong player," Porter says. "Like, the best ping pong player is just as talented as the best NBA player. That doesn’t mean that they’re going to get paid the same because it’s what the people wanna watch."
He continued:
"As much as I understand females wanting the same treatment as men basketball players, it's a different sport. They're not packing out the arenas, obviously, their TV deals aren't the same. So as much as I advocate for women and kind of the equality of the respect of their craft, I mean, you can't pay them the same thing," he continues. "But I do feel like there should be a little way to make a little bit more money because they are very talented."
