Jaylen Brown is not a good Dunker

There are a lot arms up in the air over Jaylen Brown’s decision to join the dunk contest. He is the first actual All-Star to participate in the dunk contest since 2017. Many are upset at the possibility of injury. I’m upset because Jaylen just isn’t a great dunker.

He has plenty of posters in the ideal situation. Here’s the situation: Middle of the lane. Long run away. Right hand, cock back, slam with authority. Seen it a lot.

I’ve also seen him fumble it at the goal line or quite literally come up short at the rim. I have not seen unthinkable air time, 360’s, really any razzle dazzle to speak of.

Jaylen Brown will get points because he’s Jaylen Brown up against some nobodys, but I’d expect some early 90’s 3rd place finishing dunks fro our $300 million man.
