Hot N’ Cold - Week 1, 2023

Hey everyone. As New England is having it’s annual battle of April custody battle between Winter and Spring, here is the first week of your 2023 Boston Red Sox of who’s hot for a beach and who’s cold as your Dunkie’s iced coffee.

HOT - Adam Duvall -

33 ABs, 15 H, 4 HRs, 14 RBIs, 3 BB, 5 Ks

Best hitter on the team and for any center fielder that is elite offense. Hope he stays healthy. Verdugo and Devers are at home and look great at the plate. Call it help from the World Baseball Classic or not, they are in mid-season form. These two are playing at a high level. Which is needed going into the Tampa Bay series.

COLD - Infield (Aside Devers)

Turner, Arroyo, Kike, Casas, Wong.

Casas I apologize because his development was hurt from 2020 and is still the Red Sox #2 prospect in the system. He needs time and ABs and I think can turn it around.

The rest. Oh boy. Especially some that haven’t been able to hit their weight. I’m excluding Chang because he only has 6 ABs so far. The rest need to get it together. Cora is switching around the lineup and praying that something changes in some of the player’s. And that includes Kike batting .107 at leadoff. Now if that don’t make you throw your hat on the ground and curse then I’m unsure how much of a fan you are. Early or not that’s despicable.

Granted the Rays played against Triple-A guys, plumbers, firemen, and mediocre talent as a whole, but they are a solid team with a start hotter than the sun. It will be tough. Even if Pivetta and the bullpen have a solid game.
