UFC 259
With Billy Fight Night up in Vermont enjoying a romantic weekend with his girlfriend because he is in loooooooovvvvvvveeee, Dr. BigMac is here to save the day and throw out a UFC blog. UFC 259 is one of the most stacked cards since UFC made its debut in New York.
The fight that I am looking forward to and is the most intriguing is Israel Adesanya facing the Light Heavyweight Champion Jan Blachowicz. Adesanya came in weighing 200.5 pounds while Jan said he will be weighing 220 tonight for the fight. Fighters who weighed lower than 202 pounds are 0-2. Israel came out and said he didn’t want to put weight on because he is more suited to fight at his normal weight. Israel is favored in this fight as of this writing at -230 but we have all been in a wrestling match with someone bigger than us and that 20 plus pounds I feel will be a factor in this fight. Jan needs to get Israel down and make this a wrestling match where Israel will get tired quick. For this one I am betting 5 BigMacs on Jan. Bigger man wins in my opinion.
The second main event has Megan Anderson taking on The Double Champ, The Greatest Woman’s Fighter of All Time Amanda Nunes for the Woman’s Featherweight Title. Yes we have seen strange things happen in the Woman’s division with Holly Holms knocking out Ronda but I don’t see anything like that happening tonight. Amanda just welcomed a new child with her wife so she will be focused and reading to do her job. At -1250 Vegas and the world knows this is going to be a quick one with Nunes coming out on top.
The last main event is for the Bantamweight Title with Aljamain Sterling vs the champ Petr Yan. Both fighters are at -110 odds for tonight so this could be the best out of the 3 main events especially with the smaller Bantamweight fighters. With odds like this I always ask my self what would Billy Fight Guy do in this situation and it is simple. Bill’s philosophy is if they are Russian take them and Petr is Russian so my money is Petr in this one. Another stacked card for ESPN+ and looks to be one of the best cards in a few years. Can’t wait to watch and see how it all goes down.
