The Celtics are 10-10 after Thanksgiving. After a disappointing season last year they still had a better record than this team does. Celtics fans had a long list of reason why this team hasn’t taken off. First it was Danny Ainge, the man didn’t put a team together to help the Jay’s flourish. He didn’t draft or acquire the right players. Next was Brad Stevens as head coach, the gee golly college coach that wasn’t able to handle egos like Kyrie, Gordon, and Kemba. Both of these problems are gone and moved on to different roles. So we bring in a coach that Tatum signed off on and it seems like this team has taken a step back.

The key thing to remember is no young superstar has brought their franchise a championship until they are 27-28 years old. Tatum will be turning 24 this season meaning he is still 3 to 4 years away from being a true leader and reaching his full potential. What this team needs is a no nonsense player, that has won multiple championships, that doesn’t care who you are or how good you are. While thinking about this last night watching the Celtics lose to the 4-13 Spurs I finally figured out who this guy is. He checks the boxes, multiple rings, 31 years old, has played with 2 superstars and isn’t afraid to throw shade their way when they aren’t performing, and what if I told you this team that we trade with has wanted Marcus Smart for 2 seasons now.

The man is Draymond Green, a man that doesn’t require the ball but will fight for it and play great defense. 8.8 PPG 6.9 RPG 5.4 APG 1.0 BPG he fits the Celtics mold of a gritty down low player that will fight for the ball and dish when he needs too. The trade wouldn’t be able to happen until January when Marcus Smart is eligible to be traded since the off season extension. But this is what Dr. BigMac would do

Marcus Smart $14.3 per

Juancho Hernangomez $6.9 per

Grant Williams $2.6 per

for

Draymond Green $24.0

Throw whatever draft picks Golden State asks for and make this happen. Draymond will change the DNA and kick the Jay’s in the ass when needed.
