The Celtics front office is taking a page from our wives
The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching on Thursday, February 10th. The Celtics have been rumored to be trading everyone on the roster unless you’re Jaylen or Jayson. With Brad Stevens at the reigns now and zero track record of fleecing half the league in trades it could be a whole different trade deadline, or is it going to be all the same.
If you’re a married man you’ll understand the analogy I used here. How many times have you heard this, “Babe not right now but I promise if you wait till tonight I’ll make it worth it.” Tonight comes and you get nothing except, I’m tired or I have a headache or my stomach hurts. Well Brad Stevens is about to give all the Green Teamers this excuse come Thursday. He will be in on everyone from De’Aaron Fox to Myles Turner to some big name that wasn’t even on the trade block.
The one thing I hate about the Celtics is that they constantly give you great hope that they are going to become a big power house again with another big 3 only to be saving money and getting under the luxury tax. I hate mediocre and I feel. that this is what the front office is going for this season is just a playoff appearance will be good enough. This is the Boston Celtics, a team rich with tradition and being a great team, well they need to start doing it now.
Another example of our wives and the Celtics front office will be this, after your wife gives you the excuses, the next morning she tells you let me make it up to you. I’ll get a babysitter for the kids this weekend and we will go out and have alone time later. You get all excited can’t wait for the weekend only for it to come and she’s miserable and you get drunk and play fortunate in the basement until 2am. That will be Brad after Thursday, hey we were in on everyone but this summer we will have money to spend and we are going to get that third piece to make this team a contender for years to come. I don’t know what it will honestly take for some of you to jump off the Celtics green ship, but for me its going to be this offseason with no moves, bringing in no name vets to be building pieces around the Jay’s and continue to be mediocre.
