Sting has his last match today and AEW fumbled it.

At 64 years old Sting will be wrestling in his last match and I will come out and say it, who cares. I’m not taking his accolades away. He was the face of WCW in the late 80’s and early 90’s and reinvented himself as he got older and the wrestling landscape changed but the biggest thing that hurt Sting and didn’t get him to that Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair status is that he never was in WWF/WWE in his prime. He wasted his best years in TNA when he could have came to WWE and main evented Wrestlemania. Again this is all my humble opinion.

Again at 64 he is wrestling his final match against the Young Bucks (AEW VP’s). No storied history here, just throwing them in a tag match along with Darby Allen and the build up is what exactly……? AEW fumbled the ball on the goal line with this one. Bringing in Ric Flair for what purpose? The man tried to “wrestle” the Young Bucks and it was uncomfortable to watch.

Tony Khan brought Flair in to be by Sting’s side before his last match then he was siding with the Young Bucks and now turned on them. AEW story lines are so terrible, I get that these guys get creative freedom but at one point or another you got to take a step back and say, this isn’t making sense lets re work this. It’s ok to say you messed up, really it is but for a send off to the ICON STING is to fight the Young Bucks is a slap in the face to him and his career.
