Another strong bid for relegation in American sports
I’m no Futbol nut, but I have said for a long time the best thing that sport has going for it is relegation. The idea of actual repercussions for sucking so bad is you get kicked out of the league?! I’ve also learned the power of relegation from one of my new favorite shows, Ted Lasso. If some happy go lucky slap dick American Football coach can’t convince you relegation is the way to go I don’t know how else to convince you.
Baseball is the perfect sport for this and the Pirates just made a bid for the 1st team to be bounced. MLB just axed a huge portion of their minor league systems because they couldn’t support the 10,000 teams they had. That is to say there are a shit ton of baseball teams and players out there to create a real league and let the champions move up to the MLB so maybe we won’t have to watch a bunch of bufoons toss the ball around the infield like a little league team.
