Pros, Cons, and, Observations from a week 10 win over the Bears
Editors note: When your roster and franchise is only good enough to beat bad teams you have to beat bad teams. That is the path forward for the Patriots. Up to this point you could argue they have mostly failed that test. Losses to the SeaHawks, Dolphins, and Titans were said tests. The team was un prepared, poorly coached in game, or over matched on the field. In some cases all of the above. The wins against the Jets and Bears showcase the possibility of hope that this team could be moving forward. Growth in not linear.
Pro- The Pats Defense was the story of the day. The Bears complete ineptitude on offense had Pats looking like their vintage dynasty defense. They set a franchise record with 9 sacks with consistent Pressure on the QB and the coverage was always there. The Bears never really threatened the Pats at all. New England held the Bears running game in check only giving up 73 yards. Even Brendan Schooler got reps on defense and actually flashed and made some plays. There was only 142 yards in total given up on the day and the Bears were 1-14 on 3rd down. It was the best performance of the year for the defense.
Observation- The Patriots dominance over lesbian looking QB's continues. As has been observed and reported all year by Simple Minds Sports. This is the best trend in football no one is talking about. Coach Mayo and company really dial it up when the lesbian's line up across the ball. Caleb Williams goes 16-30 120 yards on the day. It looks like he can't throw in the wind. He looked disinterested and wears a dress. The New England Patriots defense rejects male femineity altogether.
Observation- According to Raymond, aka The Bottom of the Totem Pole of Dumb our onsite correspondent, Chicago hates the Bears. And the players hate the coach. They quit and played like dog shit in that game. At least we can say the players haven't quit on Mayo, yet. That's what quitting looks like. The Bears were so disinterested in that game the Patriots bullied from jump street. The Pats offensive line looked competent for a game due to it. Don't get used to that please. Energy was all on the Pats side. We will probably see a firing in Chicago soon.
Con- Drake Maye played well enough to get his first true win but had an awful interception. Also he needs to learn to slide. Kid is dumb as rocks. I like it but come on. We need you. There was definitely some rock head plays in there. He does remind you of watching Josh Allen at times. He plays the same. He needs to clean some things up. I’m sure getting better receiving talent could do that organically.
