Pray for Mac Jones

As the warm weather approaches it means one thing for me, the NFL training camp is a month and a half away. As a Patriots fan we have been going through a roller coaster of emotions this off season. The happy things to be excited about is that Mac Jones enters year 2 and he has taken the veteran approach by having all of his offensive players go down to Florida to practice with him and get on the same page and build chemistry. Last season you could tell these guys weren’t on the same page so it is refreshing to see someone step up to get on the right track.

The bad things, the Patriots had a press conference last week and both Matt Patricia and Joe Judge came out and said they are not the Offensive Coordinators this year. WHAT! Then who the hell will be calling plays into Mac this season. I wasn’t happy about having either one of these guys being the guy. Matt Patricia was hated in Detroit and Matt Stafford when giving a list of teams he wanted to be traded too left New England off his list because Patricia was here. Joe Judge ruined the New York Giants and Daniel Jones. A guy they drafted high in the first round and got worse every year.

Bill did the same thing on the defensive side of the ball last year. No one was dubbed the Defensive Coordinator, Jerod Mayo and Steve Belichick split time calling in plays and caused friction in the locker room. Kyle Van Noy came out and aired out the dirty laundry that the team wasn’t happy once Jerod stopped calling plays and Steve took over. So if Bill has already tried this and it didn’t work out why do it again, especially with your franchise Quarterback. Hopefully during training camp Bill will realize he needs one guy, one method to help guide Mac and Bill will stop trying to be the smartest guy in the room.
