Pay Him or Trade Him

The saga continues with Matthew Judon as Mike Reiss reported that Judon is not at practice today. After yesterdays circus of Judon and first year coach, Jerod Mayo, having words then telling Judon to leave for him to come back and have an animated conversation with Eliot Wolf, every Patriots fan is saying the same thing, trade him or pay him. Those are your two options this late into July.

Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal reported yesterday how awful the defense looked and how the offensive line could do whatever they wanted against a Barmore/Judon less defensive line. If the Patriots were to pay Judon what would that achieve going into this season? The 31 year old is trying to get his last pay day before his career is over and having him on the Patriots this season would it be beneficial? Judon wants that elusive Super Bowl ring, so the Patriots brass should do what is now being forced upon them and trade Judon to a contender. But why in the hell is the front office sitting on their hands for so long if they knew they weren’t going to pay Judon his money.

We haven’t been a full week into training camp and this has already turned into a side show, something that the Belichick regime would have never let take center stage and clearly first year coach Jerod Mayo isn’t handling well. By weeks end Matthew Judon should be on his way to another team and hopefully bringing draft picks and an explosive player back in return. That is the only solution left and I don’t see Judon suiting up for the Patriots again. Trade him, this season is already going to be awful.
