At least the Celtics lost like it was October not February
Winners of their last 5 of 6, the Celtics have been starting to look closer to the team they were before Covid and a rash of injuries derailed them. Wednesday night they played the NBA’s #1 team the Utah Jazz and the Celtics actually looked like a basketball team.
However, their late game ineptitude came roaring back. It was not as rampant as in the bubble, but a late missed FT from Tatum followed by bricking the bunny off his own miss that would have put them down 1 had Orlando stench all over it.
Throw in a couple late Marcus Smart Quagmire 3 pointers and you had the fixens for a loss that leaves you thinking this team is capable of more, but not sure they are ready to accomplish it.
Which is a hell of a lot better than watching them slap stick it out there against the worst the NBA has to offer like it’s a 9 AM AAU game and they have a Fortnight tournament they are dying to get to. I guess it’s progress?
