Night 2….. was meh
Night 2 of Wrestle Mania was last night and I for once could not stay up late to watch and I also have a job so I didn’t watch till I got home and may I say, I was very wrong. Night 2 did not have the excitement that night 1 had.
The opening match is suppose to set the mood for the night, suppose to get the fans invested and this… didn’t. The Fiend vs Randy Orton. Quick back story, Bray Wyatt had a new character that was the Fiend a Dr Jekyll Mr Hyde character where one side is fun loving and the other is a monster. Since the Undertaker and Kane have retired the WWE doesn’t really have the monster character anymore so The Fiend was the replacement. After being “burned alive” The Fiend came back with this as you see here and instead of making him a dominant force they make him lose clean to Randy Orton…. one of those head scratchers of a decision from Vince. One of the better parts of the match was seeing Alexa Bliss, YUP!

How does WWE pick things back up after a terrible first match, make the second one even worse. Natalya and Tamina vs Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax (c) Women’s Tag Team Tile Match. Each team have a woman that can’t wrestle, both teams should be broken up and let Natalya and Shayna do their own singles run cause they are extremely great wrestlers but instead they are wasting away with terrible partners. Shayna and Nia win…. I am getting sleepy again

Kevin Owens vs Sammy Zayn could headline any pay per view. These two are real life best friends. Have competed with each other in Combat Zone Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Ring of Honor, NXT and now on the main roster. They have been doing this for nearly 20 years, the chemistry they have is amazing and they always put on a classic. This match was highlighted by that douche Logan Paul which I don’t understand what he brought to the table but never the less, this match was great and terrible it was so short. Would have loved to see this one go 25-30 minutes. Back and forth match with Owens coming out on top.

Sheamus vs Matt Ridle (c) US Championship Match
I hate Matt Ridle and his stupid Bro gimmick, he is a former MMA fighter that has a really bad reputation with the legends like Brock and Goldberg since he says he can make them tap. He is hated back stage and thank god he lost. I didn’t watch just saw him got pinned cause I couldn’t let my self watch this douche. Sheamus US Champ

Apollo Crews vs Big E (c)in a Nigerian Drum Fight for the Intercontinental title
Some of the best matches in Wrestle mania history are for the Intercontinental title. Savage vs Steamboat, HBK vs Razor Ramon Ladder match, Warrior vs Rick Rude, Hogan vs Warrior, Roddy Piper vs Bret Hart. All of these are classics and this one was not. It was a no DQ match meaning someone will interfere and make the heel win. Low and behold this 7 foot dude came out of no where choke slammed Big E and we have a new champ with Apollo Crews.

Rhea Ripley vs Asuka (c) Raw Women’s Title Match
Both these women are some of the best in the business so it was going to be an instant classic and also I am glad that both Women’s Title Matches delivered and help show that they can hold their own. Asuka has been a dominating force since Becky Lynch handed her the belt after she had to forfeit due to being pregnant. Since then they booked her like they did in NXT making her unstoppable, that was until Wrestle Mania. Again at the show of shows she loses. First it was her undefeated streak against Charlotte Flair and now to Rhea. Not to sound terrible but I think her not being able to still speak English is hurting her since wrestling you have to be able to deliver in the ring and on the microphone. Rhea won the title after debuting on the main roster a few weeks ago.

The Main Event - Daniel Bryan vs Edge vs Roman Regins (c) Universal Title
Back story for you all real quick, Daniel Bryan is a great wrestler, he was on my top 10 list. He is small guy that doesn’t fit Vince’s idea of a main event wrestler. Daniel Bryan had a run where the fans got behind him and helped get him a spot at Wrestle Mania 30 where he fought twice, beating Triple H to earn his way into the main event with Batista and Randy Orton. He won that match and became the undisputed champ. An injury forced him to relinquish the belt and when he came back he was put in the Intercontinental title picture winning it and then forced to retire due to concussions. After going to see doctor after doctor for nearly 5 years away from the ring he finally got cleared and knows his days are numbered so it was great seeing him in this match.
Edge, similar story had a great run won the title at Mania the next night forced to retire due a broken neck. He was gone a lot longer than Daniel and how he got medically cleared I have no clue. But he made his surprise return last year at the Royal Rumble and after tearing his triceps he took a year off to come back at this years Royal Rumble and win it earning him self a title shot, he chose to go up against Roman Reigns who for years was a baby face and shoved down everyone’s throats like John Cena was for so many years. He took a page out of Hollywood Hogan’s playbook turned heel got a mouth piece in Paul Heyman and has his real life cousin Jey Uso. The match hype and match delivered and was by far the best match on both nights. Roman Regins survived to beat both men and now is being advertised as the most dominant figure in all of WWE
