Chaim Bloom can’t be trusted

Look, I get it’s fun to rag on the Red Sox. It’s in our blood. It’s easy. So this is not hyperbole when I say Chaim Bloom is ruining the Red Sox.

The latest report surrounding the Red Sox trade deadline is that everyone is available except for Bogaerts and Devers. Bogaerts and Devers have said Sox brass told them personally they won’t be traded.

That leaves JD Martinez as the most obvious guy out the door. We also have reports that the Mets are highly interested in Eovaldi and Vazquez. If you ask me I think it’s highly likely all three of those free agents head out of town. Just to recap, your #1 starter (Chris Sale is dead to me and should be to you), your 3rd or even 2nd best hitter, and starting catcher hitting .282 will be exiting a line up that is already chalk full of holes.

The team is last place in the division, 3.5 games out of the wild card with 4 teams in front of them. They are playing uninspired baseball and certainly are not what I would call championship caliber. Who’s fault is that? Chaim Bloom. The whole controversial question of buy or sell stems from the shit bag - cheap ass roster Bloom put together in the first place. So, now we sit here in a position that screams “sell” in Bloom’s 4th year as GM a year after barley missing the World Series and the solution is going to be to middle us to death. With some add a kin to Hansel Robles while JD and Eovaldi get the door. What a cluster fuck.

When they do sell do you have any faith in the return? Chaim Bloom has traded Mookie Betts, David Price, Andrew Benintendi, Hunter Renfore, Mitch Moreland (hitting .328 at the time) and in return got Alex Verdugo, JB - freaking J, and TWENTY no name prospects! Benintendi is and All-Star, Price helped the Dodgers to a world series, Mookie is still playing at an MVP level, you still haven’t filled the 1st base position, and oh by the way Hunter Renfroe just killed you over the weekend.

How about that killer prospect pool you ask? The Red Sox farm system ranks 19th in the majors. (Rays - 10th. Yankees -9th. Orioles 1st. Oh, Dodgers are 3rd for anyone who says you can’t spend and develop at the same time) They only have 4 players in the top 100. Mayer, Casas, Bello, Nick Yorke. Bello has proven to stink or at least not be ready at 25 years old. Casas is hurt and may not be able to hit off speed, Yorke is a ghost, and Mayer is several years away and like EVERY SINGLE PROSPECT EVER is no guarantee to even be a big leaguer never mind an All-Star or ya know, MVP. And this guy has the audacity to say shit like this

“…I remember plenty of people who watched this team saying the season was over at various points before we ended up popping bottles.” SOURCE

Popping bottles?!?! For the wild card?!?! This really is Tampa Bay North.

The players have outwardly lost faith in their GM. Their manager lost faith in him when he stole his best reliever in Whitlock and stuck him in the rotation to get injured. Xander is about to walk out the door for nothing and drag Devers with him as he wipes his ass with the cascade of insulting contracts presented to him. Please, please tell me how in the world you could call Bloom’s tenure a success?
