Money won’t get stars to come to New England

Sounds like the Brandon Aiyuk sweepstakes is down to 2 teams and neither of those teams are the New England Patriots. Reports were floating around yesterday evening that the Patriots were still in and that they were willing to make Aiyuk a contract extension that would make him one of the top 5 highest paid wide outs in the NFL, but still he said I’m good.

In order for top tier players to come here you are going to have to hit in the draft like you did with Brady. Ya, the money is great but clearly he would rather go play with Deshaun or Russell Wilson (a player you could have gotten in the offseason) or Justin Fields (a player you could have traded for in the offseason). Like I said and my fellow colleagues laughed at me, they think all these guys want is the money, which yes it’s true, but they also want to build their brand and can you do that with Brissett or Maye throwing you the ball this year? Answer: probably not. Better situation going to the Steelers who haven’t had a losing season since Rich started losing his hair or the Browns who won 11 games last year.

Kraft enterprise should start reevaluating and figure out what they need to do make players want to come to New England because now you have lost out on 2 star wide receivers this offseason with Brandon Aiyuk and Calvin Ridley.
