The big news about the MLB Hall of Fame is that voters are outraged about Curt Schilling’s comments about being a Pro Trump guy and how he approved the storming of the capital. Hall of Fame voters were trying to get their ballots back because they wanted to take their vote away from Schilling. This is where I am a little confused. Curt retired 13 years ago and his actions after retirement are what is costing him getting in to the hall of fame. Curt pitched for 20 years and has 3 world series rings. There are 80 pitchers in the hall and here is how he ranks with them

. 79.5 WAR (26th all-time among pitchers)

  • 64.1 JAWS (27th)

  • 3,116 strikeouts (15th)

  • 216 wins (T-86th)

  • 127 ERA+ (T-40th)

  • 436 starts (95th)

  • Four top-five Cy Young finishes (T-24th)

That alone should be case enough for this man to take his place where he belongs, but guys as old as Queen Bill are upset about what political party he supports and his views on former President Donald Trump. Hopefully in 10 more years these older Baseball Writers of America will that hold grudges against athletes that were mean to them in the media will be gone. An athletes stats should be their resume. If you are good enough, you are in. Case closed.
