With the 17th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, The New England Patriots select, Christian Gonzalez, Cornerback, Oregon.

With the Colombian flag in the suit and a wide smile it’s hard to believe someone who many believed would go in the top ten of this draft fell all the way down into Belichick's hands. At that point, it is too good to pass up.

With many Patriots fans glad it isn’t a reach pick and this truly was picking the best player available. No Will Levis as some read into the B.S., no scrub lineman, and still no wide recievers off the board. As they all said, this is a weak wide reciever class.

Patriots get an A tonight for Day 1. Let us sleep in peace. Phew.
