John Henry is losing money and destroying the Red Sox in the process

It doesn’t matter if you are a billionaire or middle class, if you see that you are losing money you start to sell off stuff to stay a float. When you are about to have your first child you clean out and get rid of what ever you can to make a couple extra bucks, I did it. I sold my favorite Happy Meal Toys. Seeing what John Henry is doing with the Red Sox is showing me a man that has lost too much money selling off pieces and getting little in return because he needs to get out of the red.

Covid has screwed over a lot of people from the rich to the poor. It’s a whole new world out there. One of the biggest problems for the Red Sox is no fans in the stands. In 2020 it was reported the Sox lost over $199 million dollars in gate sales. In 2021 add another $199 because we all know there will be no fans anytime soon especially the way Massachusetts is handling the vaccine. John Henry also owns the Boston Globe, a newspaper that has been dying since the internet was one click away to get what ever news story you wanted. Some of his best writers have left to go work for better companies like the Athletic.

Liverpool FC is one of the biggest names in the EPL. One of the owners, John Henry has seen that team also lose a ton of money. Down 8 percent losing 48 million Euro’s. John Henry is in the red and in my opinion why Mookie Betts, David Price, and Andrew Benintendi are gone and no big free agents or trades have been brought in. John Henry can’t afford them. Covid has beaten the Red Sox and we will see an early 1990’s Red Sox team for the next few years.
