Billy baseball was against the Garrett Richards signing from the jump. His argument was that he no longer had an arm. Welp, hate to say it but The Queen was correct. This guy blows. In 4 starts he only has 16.2 innings. I get that starters are not supposed to pitch past 5 innings in today’s dumb ass game of baseball, but this cat is barely scraping by with 4 not to mention that super stellar 6.48 ERA.
Now, normally I’m a live and let live kind of guy. I’d say give this guy a hot it’s early. But fuck that. First of all, he has never really been good. He had a couple decent seasons 7 years ago and has been hurt or mediocre at best since then. But, it’s really that first presser he gave after his 1st loss. It was a pathetic performance and all of his comments basically came off as “it’s not me it’s you.”
And here is why this guy stands out. This Red Sox team is vastly over achieving particularly the pitching staff. He is the one thorn in this bed of roses. And he’s a shitty $10 million thorn. He was the “prize” free agent signing this off season in terms of contract and he blows and I’m telling you right now he’s not built for the Boston Media. If you stunk he own up to it. Look at Chris Sale. He sucked a majority of the time he has been here, but he claimed it every time and people love him. You dont actually have to be good. You just have to admit you suck and Boston will embrace you, because we all suck. Ya know who doesnt suck? Tanner Houck and Garrett Whitlock. Which is the real crime being committed by Richards. Whitlock is more of a misdemeanor because the Sox are bringing him back slow after Tommy John, but sending Houck down to start the season in favor of Richards was a baseball felony.
Designate this super rich turd for assignment and lets see the kids in the 5 spot of the rotation.
