Festivus of Boston Sports
We have a week left of 2022 and it is time to air out our grievances of the 4 major sports of New England. A lot can be said of the Patriots and Red Sox, but even thought they are winning right now the Celtics and Bruins have their own problems if not as big as the other two teams. Let us dive in.
RED SOX
The once beloved Boston Red Sox are now dead to everyone. It all started in my opinion when you sent the young super star, Mookie Betts to the LA Dodgers for Alex Verdugo and other trash that isn’t on the team. It could be the fact that we used to be one of the premier franchises in MLB that we would pay top dollar to get the best in the league. Having hired Chaim Bloom to help shop in the bargain bin and still put out a championship product like he did in Tampa has failed miserably. The last big mistake this team has done is let Xander Bogaerts walk, and from Xander’s own mouth he felt disrespected by the Sox offer. Another cornerstone player just gone for nothing, and now reports are out saying the talks between the Sox and Devers are “galaxy’s apart” also known as they don’t want to pay him and he will either be traded by the deadline or walk in free agency. A franchise that once had some of the best young players in their franchise are now the laughing stock of the MLB. Well done John Henry.
PATRIOTS
This one hurts the most, 20 years of being on top has come to a grinding halt since 2020 when the GOAT left to go play for the Buccaneers. But let us just talk about this year, 2022. Do we all forget that earlier this year the Patriots played a playoff game? Yes, a team led by rookie Mac Jones was a playoff team and even was in 1st place in the AFC EAST. Now, after Josh McDaniels left to become head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, we now have the walking nut sacks, Matt Patricia and Joe Judge calling the offense. The offense they are running is something you would see in Division 2 college football, screens, short passes, and a heavy dose of runs. One would think these two couldn’t run an offense if their lives were on the line, but is there more to it?
One of the most bizarre things is that a lot of talk is coming out of the locker room and from players of the past saying the problem may not be the walking nut sacks but instead it’s Mac Jones. His pissy attitude and clashing with coaches is said to be the real problem. Coaches don’t trust Mac to run the offense or make plays down the field. Rolling into the end of 2022 I don’t see the Patriots winning another game. Lines are divided in the locker room, finger pointing and the last thing I thought I would ever see, Robert Kraft is going to have to make some big decisions this off season. Whatever that may be.
CELTICS
A team that went to the NBA Finals and is on pace to do it again in 2023 what could one complain about. Here is my one and only problem with this team. Jayson Tatum’s constant complaining to the refs. Yes, you are in the MVP talks, you are one of the best teams in the league, but watching Tatum constantly complain about calls and fouls that aren’t call are so god damn frustrating and makes me cringe. If he changed that one part of his game I think he would be the total package in the NBA.
BRUINS
The Bruins are on a a mission for 2022-2023 but there is one thing that could ruin it all, Don Sweeney. Don Sweeney isn’t the one that helped catapult this team into what it is this year, its the fact that the older core knows that this is it (we have heard this for 5 years now) and are playing like it. Don Sweeney will mess this run up some how, he already did earlier this year with the signing of the biggest piece of shit in the hockey world, Mitchell Miller. A kid who bullied a mentally challenge child from 1st grade all the way through high school. A signing that Bruins players came out and spoke out about saying they shouldn’t have signed him and he has no place in hockey. Luckily for us it didn’t steer this team off the mission at hand, but what other stupid tricks does Don have? It’s scary to know that the GM can ruin everything that the veterans have worked so hard for with a single trade or signing.
