Quick Hits: The Drake Maye Offense

Quick Hits on Drake Maye and the "Drake Maye" Offense

The most promising thing from the game is that his mistakes were mostly physical not mental.

In the film you can see him working through the progressions ultimately making good decisions with the football.

There was not an instance of him putting the ball in danger via a poor decision.  His main error was a blatant overthrow to an open receiver.

-There were 2 plays where he completed a pass to 4th read in the play.

-One of which was the play to pop which start off the 2 minute drill before the half.

The Offense

  • Pats Ran 8 RPO's and Maye was only under center for 12 plays throughout the game.

  • No more heavy sets, much more 3 WR sets

  • Kayshon Boutte is now being featured as he was the leading WR in snaps 55 plays 83%.

  • While Polk and Douglas were not far behind.

  • The plays were generally basic in nature however were more aggressive down field routes.
