Dolphins helped the Patriots week 3

Week 3 is over and we finally got a win. It may be a win over Zach Wilson but in the NFL, a win is a win. But with the win it was another no so stellar performance for the wide receiver group.

Kendrick Bourne- 4 catches for 46 yards

Devante Parker - 2 catches for 19 yards

Juju Smith-Schuster- 1 catch for 5 yards

Stink, stank, stunk.

Mac has zero talent to throw the ball too. But, maybe thanks to Mike McDaniel and the Miami Dolphins scoring 70 points on the Denver Broncos we may have an opportunity to get help for Mac.

Sean Payton took over a Denver Broncos team that was terrible and after that beating they took in Miami clearly his roster isn’t going anywhere so could there be a fire sale in Denver to acquire as many picks as possible to rebuild the way he wants? If the answer is yes then the Patriots must pounce on either Jerry Jeudy or Courtland Sutton.

Courtland Sutton signed a four-year $60.8 million contract with the Broncos in 2021. After totaling 64 receptions for 829 yards and two touchdowns last season, Sutton is set to have a cap hit north of $18 million this season. Sutton will cost more money and probably a higher draft pick and as we know Bill won’t pay a wide receiver $18 million.

Jerry Jeudy who’s name was in trade rumors all off season may be the best asset to get for Mac. His 5th year option was picked up and he would be due $12 million next season which is feasible for this Patriots team but the biggest reason is the Alabama connection with  Mac Jones and Bill O’Brien. Though no one played together they may run a similar offense and have the same playbook type langue that could help Jeudy get on the same page with the Patriots offense quicker than Sutton.

At 24 years old, if he can have success here it may also help to sign him up to his next contract. A former 1st round pick who had an excellent season last year with 67 receptions and 972 yards and 6 touchdowns would have led the Patriots last year. With all the money next year and maybe this type of player away, the Patriots should make a play for Jerry Jeudy even if it costs you a 2nd round pick.

Help Mac with as much talent as possible. It’s the only way we contend for a Wild Card spot.
