Bruins never say DIE!!!
With only 7 games under his belt last year for the Bruins, Nick Ritchie was the odd man out to start the season. No one wanted him on any line and everyone wanted him to be the healthy scratch. This season he has almost doubled his games played with 13, has 5 goals and 5 assists (his career high is 14 goals and 22 assists) with a -2 and has shown flashes of why he was the 10th overall pick in the 2014 draft.
Bruce Cassidy is doing something that Claude could and never wanted to do and that’s getting the best out of his younger players. Yes Boston is the 10th oldest team in the NHL right now but his defensive groups are almost all 25 or younger. A feat that any NHL team should be tipping their hats to Bruce after “losing” Chara to the Capitals.
This team feels special to me this year. Playing with a purpose. We all know these comeback games won’t happen all the time but, I feel that come playoff time this team will continue to have the Never say die attitude. Knowing the game isn’t over till the last buzzer and that is a scary mind set to have if you are an opponent. To play this team you’ll need to play your best 60 minutes in order to kill them. Watch out, the quest is looking like a possibility.
