Boston, we have a problem

The one team that was the bright spot in Boston and would make fans from Rhode Island to Maine drink happy beers have suddenly found a stretch of skunked beers. What is wrong with the Boston Celtics? Sitting at 28-12 and 6.5 back of the 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, 2025 has not been good to these Boston Celtics.

When the ball dropped for 2025, so didn’t the Celtics ability to shoot and play defense. Shooting a miserable 28.8% from 3, the Celtics are taking the motto of living and dying by the 3. They are also averaging 12.6 turnovers a game. It’s sloppy basketball and makes you wonder if this team can go back to back. Green teamers will comeback with, “it’s January, who cares! Wait till it really matters.” I will fight that argument with you should have lost to New Orleans, one of the worst teams in the western conference and you just lost to the worst team in the NBA, the Toronto Raptors.

My friend, The Chief Bobby, has hated the Joe Mazzulla hiring since it was announced and has stayed atop that take hill and I’m starting to see the light from the bottom of that hill. Is Joe Mazzulla the right guy to lead this team? A coach that doesn’t seem to call a timeout at the right time or make adjustments to slow down the other team when they are rolling. It’s the little things that make coaches great and elevate them to the next level.

Celtics play the Magic and Hawks before going on a west coast trip and hopefully everyone (except Jayson Tatum) can get their foot out of their ass. Championship teams don’t usually have these type of slumps and hopefully this is the last time we have to worry about this.
