A most powerful Enemy
Spite is a hell of a drug. You know how they say not to back a wild animal into a corner? Bill Belichick has always been a wild animal backed into a corner. And by that I mean an Asshole. He just happened to backdoor into the greatest QB of all time that helped win him six Super Bowls in a 20 year period of dominance no professional sports organization has ever seen. Now with Brady gone and the curtain pulled away we see the all powerful Oz for what he is. A manipulative, spiteful, arrogant man. But, unlike the Wizard this great and powerful Oz doesn’t have a soft spot for the critics, Dorothy, his players, or even his boss.
Bill Belichick is a Navy man. He goes down with the ship.
Think about it. Belichick for all his shortcomings we see now coaching in his 70’s is still one of the greatest coaches of all time. He’s been in the NFL for 50 fucking years! He knows what’s what. (Except for talent at WR). He saw the writing on the wall this year. He had a petulant little brat QB who daddy Kraft made him draft. He was forced to jettison his Buddy Matty P and bring in the old salty dog Billy O. He probably admitted to himself that these WRs I brought in suck balls. (Not his fault though). So, instead of making some hard decisions on “what’s best for the football team”, he’s spitefully driving Bob Kraft’s franchise into the ground.
He’s run all of the coaching talent out of town. He took that heavy breathing basket case that is Mac Jones and threw him to the slaughter week after week after week until he knew the team was so defeated putting Zappe out there against the Chargers to get shut out by the worst defense in the league would prove some kind of point. The point being, it’s not Bill’s fault. “No one listened to me. Now everyone sucks. Should have just done their job.”
It’s all but assured this is Belichick’s last season with the Patriots. So, instead of show casing his ability as a coach so he may find another landing spot, he showcases his ability to unleash full power over football ops in whatever way pleases him.
“You think we suck now Bobby Kraft? Hold my beer.”
He’s probably already sured up his next landing spot, but if given the chance to sit down in front of his next owner his only pitch would be “I’m Bill God Damn Belichick. I just ran the Patriots into the ground because my QB is a winey bitch. I can and will do anything I want.” Game recognize Game. He’s about to eye fuck his way into owning the Carolina Panthers.
The point here is after forcing Brady out of town with no succession plan, Kraft stepped in just a little and firmly suggested they draft Mac Jones. After having to quarterback a Pop Warner offense, Mac Jones sought outside council. Those two actions brought forth a spiteful wrath in which Joaquin Phoenix would be proud of. The 2023 Patriots are Bill Belichick’s Waterloo.
Hopefully, it all back fires and the Patriots select the next generational talent at QB with a top 2 pick, but spite now flows through the blood of Foxboro. A powerful enemy is tough to dispose of. Even when they’re gone.
