Celtics in 7

Welcome to the experience. The most frustrating sports viewing experience since Tuukka throwing away Stanley Cups.

Game 5 was lost at the end of the 3rd quarter. I have never seen a team end quarters worse. The bullshit iso ball 45 feet from the hoop leads to a shitty shot then leading to another buzzer beat from Jordan Poole. That shot erased the 15 point come back and put the Celtics down 1 heading into the fourth. From there it was a series of comedic mental collapses leading to 2 - 3 series deficit. Would they have it any other way?

I had the Celtics in 7 to start the series. No reason to move on from that. I anticipated this series going pretty much just the way it went until last night. Game 5 was the first back to back loss the Celtics suffered in this playoff run. The concerning part is the way they started the game looked like the team from early parts of the season and the way they ended the season looked just as bad if not worse. A total loss of composure.

Here’s the good news. The team has learned resiliency. Tatum looks to have at least found his shot if not his whole offensive game. In Game 5 apart from mental midget mentality towards the refs and 10 missed free throws, oh and 18 more turnovers they looked great!

Honestly though the story of this entire playoff run is if the Celtics play clean they win. They also are due for 2 or 3 knock down shooting nights. We can only say we’ve seen that in the 4th quarter of game one so let’s say they’re due? It should be expected between the mentality, turnovers, composure, and shooting enough of those things will improve for a game six win. From there anything can happen in game 7’s. Jayson Tatum is 4 - 1 in game 7’s. His only loss coming to Lebron his rookie year.

So, here’s the prediction game 6 is a stars game. Jayson and Jaylen show up. They play clean and push it to game 7. Sunday in San Fransisco we see the full team effort from the Celtics and an avalanche of 3’s poor down on Steph and that talentless hack Draymond.
