Should the Celtics actually trade for KD?

Yes. The answer is yes because he is a top 10 player in NBA history arguably and he is still somewhere in his prime. The question is what do you give up?

Here’s where you start. Brown and Tatum are untouchable. After that lets talk.

Honestly, the conversation probably stops without Jaylen Brown available but lets play the game. The next guys to talk about are Rob Williams and Marcus Smart. If you make me choose I ultimately say I’m willing to part with them, but it’s close. The Celtics were 2 wins from winning the championship last year with the core they have and now they loaded up their depth with Brogdon and Gallo. We are seeing Celtics as odds on favorite to win the championship next year. You don’t break up a team like that lightly. But, it is Kevin Durant.

Marcus Smart is vastly overrated and honestly lost you more games than he won you. That’s what you get with role players who step out of their role. So, ya if getting KD means moving on from the fake DPOY then lets roll. Rob Williams is way tougher. He gained so much respect from me these playoffs gutting it through his injury, but he just wasnt the same player. He has been injured constantly in his career. How often can they actually rely on Timelord being healthy when they need him? Because of that massive question mark I give him up too.

The last question for me pertains to development. Does having KD around speed up or impeed Tatum’s development? Can Durant take a back seat or do the Celtics have it in them to actually morph into the Warriors and all work together? Can Jaylen Brown be a 2B instead of a 1B? We already are hearing rumblings he wants to be “The guy”. If that’s the case maybe it’s more reason to trade for KD. I still don’t include Brown in the deal.

Danny had his crack at Durant 6 years ago in the Hamptons. He paid through the nose to get Tom Brady to be apart of the pitch and he dragged the walking Muppet, Kelly Olynyk with him. That clearly back fired. I wonder if there is enough residual resentment for missing out on the white whale the 1st time to try again?
