The Rewind

Patriots embarrassed by the Bills

Bills 47 - Patriots 17

The Bills scored touchdowns on all seven of their possessions, excluding kneeldowns. The Bills have now had 20 consecutive possessions against the Patriots without a punt.

The Bills were 6-of-7 (85.7 percent) on third down, with the only “failure” being the game’s final kneeldown. Since stats on third-down conversions began getting logged in 1991, it’s the first time in playoff history that a team converted at least 77 percent on third down.

Josh Allen’s 157.6 passer rating was the second highest in playoff history among quarterbacks with at least 20 attempts. Allen had more touchdowns (five) than incomplete passes (four).

The Defense deteriorated to nothing in the final 5 weeks of the season

The Patriots had a stretch in November when they didn’t allow a point for 19 consecutive possessions, and the defense also went 26 possessions when it generated more points (13) than the opposition (seven).

Defense finished

2nd in yards allowed

2nd pts allowed

3rd in turnovers

8th in Turnover differential

* Patriots Offense finish 6th in the league in points

Mac Jones was good not great.  In the Bills game

After the Bills waltzed down the field for an easy opening-drive touchdown, Jones came right back down the field. He hit Hunter Henry for a 30-yard gain on third-and-14. He hit Brandon Bolden downfield for what could have been another big gain if Bolden didn’t drop it.

Then he sent a great pass to Nelson Agholor in the end zone, but Micah Hyde made a sensational play for a diving interception. Another Jones pass was intercepted off a deflection later in the game, but he never folded against the league’s top defense.

24/38 232 yards 2 TDs 2 INTs

On the season Mac finished as the statistical 15th best QB in the league

3,802 yards. 22 TDs. 13 INTs. 67.6%. 7.3 yards per att.

PFF Grade: 12th. QBR: 16th.

The Patriots offense had an encouraging season. The group finished with the No. 9 passing DVOA and the No. 7 rushing DVOA during the regular season.

A reflection on the season

My biggest question? What happened at the bye week?

- analysts are saying too much confidence and when the Colts punched you in the face Pats couldn't respond

Who were the real Patriots?

7 game winning streak or the end caps of the season? Losing 4 of last 5 games.

“Is that what we are, or is that a bad night?” Belichick said. “We’ll see when we start playing again next year, I guess.”

Of all the players that were brought in I can only think of Jonnu Smith and Nelson Agholor as a fail.

- Henry Anderson, Godcheaux, Jamie Collins may make the list too.

* Pretty impressive considering the overhaul the roster took.

Wins:

Mac Jones

Matt Judon

Barmore

Rhamadama Ding dong

Kendrick Bourne

Kyle Van Noy

Hunter Henry

Ted Karras

Trent Brown

Where to go from here?

- The sounds from Foxboro feels like arrow pointing up for the offense and down for the defense.

Defense need an overhaul

* Top area of needs moving into the off season (We will cover this in more detail next week)

- Patriots ranked 32nd in the league in turn over cap space situation. Boston cap guy has them with $2.5 million

HEADLINES WITH THE OBVIOUS ONE

The Patriots are 6 days into their off season after getting Dildo'd in Buffalo last Saturday night, 47 - 17. No need to live in the past.

The Bruins and Tuukka Rask forgot to show up for their game against the Hurricanes on Tuesday. They lose. 7 - 2. Tuukka was pulled after the first period.

Willie O'Ree was celebrated for breaking the color barrier in the NHL. His number 22 was retired and lifted into the rafters.

The Celtics completed a comeback against the pathetic Pelicans on Monday eventually winning 104 - 92. Tatum lead all scorers with 27 points. 21 in the second half.

Brad Stevens completed his first trade of the season, sending Juancho Hernangomez out the door for two cheaper injured players in PJ Dozier and Bol Bol.

NFL Wild Card Rewind

* The fucking Cowboys have less playoff wins since 1996 than Jake Delomb

- Dak Prescott play

* Bengals vs Raiders Refs-gate.

* Brady keeps winning

* Cardinals biggest frauds or Pats?

Break

Willie O'Ree distracts Tuukka

Da fuck was that? 7 - 2 loss

- Fore checked the shit out of the Bruins

- No Mike Reilly.

* Just a one off? This Hurricanes team has had the Bruins number

Celtics dumb trade

Ray?

Salary dump. If the Celtics just get under the tax line and that's hit I will be angry.
