New allegations may give Browns the grounds to terminate all of Deshaun Watson's guarantees

Deshaun Watson has a new lawsuit against him from woman in TX

Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk obtained a copy of Watson’s contract and has found a key provision in it that may give the Browns an avenue to void the rest of the guarantees on Watson’s contract. Here is the paragraph:

“Player hereby represents and warrants (except as otherwise disclosed to club in writing), as of the date hereof, that (1) Player has not been charged with, indicted for, convicted of or pled nolo contendre to any felony and/or misdemeanor involving fraud or moral turpitude, (ii) Player has not engaged in conduct which could subject him to a charge, indictment or conviction of any such offense, and (iii) no circumstances exist that would prevent Player’s continuing availability to the Club for duration of this Contract.”

So as Florio states, this really comes down to whether or not Watson and his agent disclosed this particular instance to the Browns when he signed his contract with the team.

DR BIG MAC’s POWER RANKINGS

NFL season has begun that means we get Dr. BigMacs Top 10 Power Rankings.  How do we get here? It’s like the secret sauce on a BigMac, I’ll never share the secret to my power rankings.

Honorable mentions- New England Patriots no one thought they would win. Give them a tip of the cap. Green Bay Packers if Jordan love didn’t get hurt they would make my top 10.

10. Buffalo Bills- put up 34 after losing a lot of players and a lot of backlash towards Josh Allen. This defense almost blew the game but the offense stood tall. Can they consistently win games 34-28. No. Will the be playing west coast teams at 1pm every week no, but give the respect where it’s due.

9. Baltimore Ravens- you loss to the chiefs by the tip of your toe. Went in to arrow head and fought the beast and loss but you did look good. 9 may be way to low for this team but you’re 0-1 with room to grow. Also, if they don’t protect Lamar he will die.

8. New Orleans Saints- you beat a team 47-10 week 1 it gets you on my Power Rankings board. The only problem is you played the Carolina Panthers who are complete dog shit and have the absolute worst qb in the league. But respect for throwing up 47

7. Miami Dolphins- they squeezed out a win with controversy in the morning with Tyreek Hill going up Jacksonville who on paper should be better than what they showed Sunday. The dolphins defense won them that game and if the offense keeps getting better the dolphins could climb up this board.

6. Dallas Cowboys- are they this good or is the Browns that bad? That’s why the cowboys will sit outside my top 5. It was a great win on the road in Cleveland. Dak got paid CeeDee got paid all is well in Jerry’s world but play a better team and I’ll put you in my top 5.

5. Houston Texans- are they a flash in the pan? Last year CJ Stroud got rookie of the year honors has teams figured him out? He was sacked 4 times in the 2 point win over the colts.  I do believe they are the 2nd best team in the AFC.

4. Detroit Lions- won an overtime game against the Rams. Goff found a new favorite target in Jameson Williams. Need to see more out of this offense to move them up the board.

3. Philadelphia Eagles- I love what they did in the offseason getting Saquan Barkley. Was it because it was the first game for Jalen and that’s why he looked a little lost at times. He was sacked twice and had 2 interceptions but if healthy this team should be in the final 4 at the end.

2. San Francisco 49ers- the defending NFC champs without Christian McCaffrey took on a Jets team that a lot of analysts said would be the AFC champs this year. The 49ers d shut down Rodgers and the offense didn’t skip a beat with Jordan Mason at running back.

1. Kansas City Chiefs- was it a powerful performance? No, but to start the season and pull out a win against a team that was in the AFC championship last year with you. Chiefs stay atop. They are the measuring stick now in the NFL.

Sustainable or Suck? Pats Yack with Sara Marshall – Editor of Musketfire

Lead Story: Jerod Mayo can coach?  Chief Bobby and Sara Wax poetic on COACH VIBES

Musketfire.com Jerod Mayo proves negative label wrong with Patriots players' support

…”Mayo was quickly labeled as a player's coach, which takes on a negative connotation in today's NFL. Most coaches referenced as such are not the most well-respected or successful”

“…However, based on how the team played in their season opener against a tough Bengals team on Sunday and the overall vibe the players had, it's evident they are willing to run through a wall for their new head coach, an attitude that could take them further than anyone anticipated.”

That sentiment was made even clearer during the newest episode of "The Quick Snap" podcast hosted by current Patriots center David Andrews and former quarterback Brian Hoyer.

“The biggest thing is belief. Jerod did such a great job – obviously throughout the year, but this week – trying to get guys ready to go and talking about how we want to play the game. … There’s belief in that. Guys saw this is how we can win games.”

Brian Hoyer doubled down on that, as he watched the game from a fan's perspective but with the experience of working with the new head coach and the roster.

“A lot of good teams, they embody who their coach is. To me, that was a Jerod Mayo football team. That’s who he was as a player.”

·        That show needs work… I digress

·        The team did not quit on Belichick. The QB did and the offense quit on the QB. ..

Have your thoughts or impressions of the team changed drastically after week 1? How are your Vibes?

Chief Bobby: Beating Belichick at his own game -

Football is a coaches game. Period.  There is not a definitive talent gap between most teams in the NFL.

Most QB's are average.  A team's season will be defined by execution, preparation, injuries, and player buy in. Coach Driven.

The more prepared team which executes their game plan with minimal miscues will win.

Mayo had the team mentally and physically ready for week 1. The players referenced preseason preparations that which had them physically ready for the game.

"Lets go to the Hill!!" was a rallying cry reported by Mike Reiss.  Referencing a training camp practice where after a 2-hour padded session Mayo called for the team to run the famous hill of Foxboro.

Bobby, care to put it away and explain yourself?

Sara, Was the first game a fluke or can the coaching staff get the team to perform again? Do the Patriots have a sustainable approach, or will it eventually lead to suck?

The Defense

·        In Week 1 of this season sixth-best pass rush grade and the third-best run defense grade, making it one of the most well-rounded units in the NFL.

·        “Ameba Defense” all over the place schematically pre and post snap.

·        Great tackling. Fast and Hard to the ball (s) insert mother joke

o   Does Elliot Wolfe deserve a nod here for bringing back everybody; creating a high level of cohesiveness?

§  Was not giving Judon $$$ a mistake? YES

·        Christian Gonzales

o   Chase: 20 routes. 3 catches. 15 yards

o   G Wilson: 23 routes, 3 catches. 18 yars

o   T Hill: 17 routes, 0 rec, 0 yards, INT

o   J waddles: 4 routes, 1 rec, 15 yards

o   D. Smith: 11 routes, 2 rec, 22 yards, PBU

o   AJ Brown: 19 routes, 4 rec, 47 yards

·        Keon White Drug tested; respect

In General

What would you like to see more of?

·        Jaylen Polk. Pop Douglas.

What are your biggest concerns?

·        Week 1 game plans vs poorly lead teams

o   Had all off season to prepare against a familiar opponent for AVP

·        Offensive Line still a question mark

o   50% pressure rate for Brissett

·        Jacoby Pumpkin Brissett

o   Can AVP sustain Brissett’s ceiling? Can he raise it?

·        Offensive skill players. Not enough to sustain success and keep up with good teams

o   Elliot Wolf failed here at securing a #1 WR target

IF WE GET TO IT

Belichick Bashing

DOES another pats win make Belichick look better or worse?

Bill won't talk about it . . . At all.  He has not commented on the game at all.

Especially if they win exactly how Bill would have wanted to win.  But he couldn't get them there.

·  Implemented zone run scheme

·  Fixed Special Teams

·  Didn't piss off QB

Last things Last

Robert Kraft is super thirsty for the Hall of Fame

Stacey James: If Robert Kraft wasn’t born there would be no NFL team in New England

Robert KRafT: speaking about Jerry Jones: “He hasn’t been to the NFC title Game in two decades and he gets in? How does that work?

ESPN: Don Van Natta Jr.

“Part of the problem when it comes to assessing Kraft and the entire Patriots dynasty is factoring in several well-known controversies,”

“A half dozen voters said evolving truths around incidents such as Spygate, Deflategate and Orchids of Asia cloud the team’s greatness.”

Anonymous Hall of Fame Voter: Some voters believe he was part of the biggest cheating scandal in NFL History. That’s a very tough one to overcome.

Van Natta noted in the story that several voters honed in on the fact that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ordered the Spygate tapes to be destroyed by NFL general counsel in September 2007.

For those voters, Goodell did not order a thorough investigation of the videotaping scandal — shortly after Kraft championed Goodell’s ascension as NFL commissioner in 2006.

“The Dynasty” — a bestselling book penned by Jeff Benedict in 2020 and the subsequent 10-part Apple TV+ documentary series bearing the same name — has also rankled voters, Van Natta reported.

The documentary series in particular drew criticism for its harsh critique of Belichick. Boston.com readers labeled it a “hit job” on Belichick and several former Patriots players shared that they felt “duped” by the narrative presented in the series.

“Some voters told ESPN they believe both projects were intended to juice Kraft’s Hall of Fame candidacy. A Patriots spokesperson adamantly denied the projects were part of any push to get Kraft into Canton. And last winter, Kraft said he had no influence on the docuseries and was “disappointed” with the film.”

Kraft is full of shit and trying too hard and Hall of fame voters are self-righteous egotistical losers.

Kraft is a hall of fame owner. If there is such a thing

Tyreek Hill arrest

SHOW CLIP

Lakeland man hides in drawers, uses whiteboard to evade deputies: PCSO

The sheriff’s office said at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday, deputies went looking for Johnny Yates, 41, at a home on West 10th Street, only to be greeted by a whiteboard with the message “Johnny Yates does NOT live here!”

The deputies used a loudspeaker to command Yates to leave the home, but after about an hour, they used smoke to get the occupants to get out.

After still getting no response, deputies used a K9 to search the home. The sheriff’s office said the dog sniffed out Yates, who was hiding “in a modified chest of drawers.”

A criminal arrest affidavit said after his arrest, Yates told deputies he ate methamphetamine and “b
