Who has the best halftime show????
This year The Weeknd has the honor of hosting the Super Bowl Halftime Show. He is a mega star in the pop community and deserves this great honor. They don’t just give these shows to anyone, you need to have a strong resume to even be discussed for this opportunity. His newest album has some great songs from Blinding Lights, Save Your Tears, Starboy, I Feel It Coming, and my all time favorite, The Hills. The Hills reminds me of Queen Bill after a Patriots game. We went to the Golden Banana. A very low rated gentlemen’s club. As soon as we paid and walked through the door this song was playing and Bill yelled out to one of the dancers, “I can see your C-Section scar.” So for that, this song will always have a place in my heart.
Now before we go any further this is my pick, not what America picks or what Queen Bill or Mitch think. This is Dr. BigMac’s choice and my choice alone. I feel that there is a check list that these performances need and this one artist checked off every single one of those. They have an endless catalog of hits, you can watch their dance moves and be like oh, they are playing this song just because their dance moves are iconic. They can also sit down at the piano and play a classic after just dancing for 10 minutes straight. If you haven’t figured it out, I am talking about Lady Gaga.
Here is a little secret, I love Lady Gaga. Her music makes me sing, it makes me dance. For my sisters 40th birthday party I did the Bad Romance dance from beginning to end with a crowd of people. I could watch that music video over and over. The song is catchy, the dance is phenomenal, and I am a huge fan.
People, she sang “This Land Is Your Land” and then came down from the top of Reliant Stadium and sang Poker face while being swung around the stadium and SHE SANG EVERY NOTE! She then goes on to sing countless hits including Bad Romance and has choreographed dances and sings! Like no lip sync! She sings and its amazing. Hands down it’s my top choice and I don’t think any artist has a chance to move into my number 1 spot. Like Larry Bird said in the 3 point contest to the other guys, so who is coming in 2nd?
