Settle a bet for me, nerds

FAT Tuesday’s look around the MLB really brought out the baseball side of Bill, which in a word. Cock smoke. All was going swimmingly until we started discussing the affect the deadened ball would have on the season. I believe it will lessen players values who are big swing and miss guys. Putting more enfaces on power hitting for doubles instead of moon shots. Ole Billy Blues eyes agrees with me I think. There are time when the mumbles and the beeps are too much to keep track of.

Regardless, a player I mentioned as a guy that hit for power that may have to adjust his game is DJ Lamehieu. He just signed a big old 6 year $90 million dollar deal. All of season the reports were he wanted $20 million a year. Per usual the conversation was completely derailed and turned into a pissing match, but the question still remains. Was DJ Lemaheiu signed as a power hitter to play in Yankee Stadium Specifically. Lets take a look at the numbers.

DJ Lamehieu stats
2019 26 HRs
14 HR to right field. 314 Feet
6 HR to left field. 318 feet.

2020 10 HRs
7 out of 10 hit to Right
3 out of 10 hit to Left

2018 15 HRs in Colorado.

Almost all to Left center

Coors field dimensions
347 to left
350 to right

Yankee Stadium dimensions

314 to Right

318 to Left

Now my argument takes a hit because DJ didn’t end up getting the $20 million, but lets call that a Covid problem for the sake of my take.
I believe DJ got paid $20 ($15) million to hit HRs in Yankee stadium.

I believe his market at $20 million anywhere else in MLB was little to zero because he could not duplicate the HR production outside of NYC. Does this really have anything to do with where the conversation started on the show? No. But, now I need validation or hate. So, what say you baseball geeks?
