Sweeney Needs To Go All In

Since the beginning of Simple Minds Sports, we have ripped Don Sweeney from every thing he has done with this Bruins team. From the 2015 Draft where he whiffed not once (Jakob Zboril), not twice(Zach Senyshyn), but thrice (Jake Debrusk….kind of). To his free agent signings that left everyone scratching their heads (Par Lindholm, Brett Ritchie, John Moore, and David Backes). The Queen even dubbed him the first walking tit in our shows history. But the one thing that this man can do is make trades and the one thing that will make Boston forget all about his mistakes is making that big splash trade and hoisting the cup in June.

The trade deadline is almost a week away and its no secret that the Bruins want/need a left shot defenseman. Today the report came out about a deal was done with Columbus but the Bruins had to clear cap space. The trade would be Vladislav Gavrikov for a 1st and 3rd round pick.

Gavrikov is that left shot defenseman that the Bruins are dying to get to have lockdown pairings come playoff time but if you’re going to give up a 1st and 3rd why not go for the home run and get the Coyotes Jakob Chychrun.

Yes, its going to cost you more. But, he would help free up McAvoy unlike the last playoff run where he was going out and double shifting because the defensive depth was lackluster at best. Lindholm and Carlo / McAvoy and Chychrun /Forbert and Clifton. With the offensive scoring for this Bruins team at an all time high and a Goaltender who is playing like the contract he got in 2021, this team would be poised to hoist the Stanley Cup. If that means selling off a 1st 3rd and Jake Debrusk and Fabian Lysell then so be it. This core deserves to win 1 more together since this could (we have heard this for years now) be it for them. So Don Sweeney needs to push his chips all in and go for it all.
