Rafael Devers Is Setting Records

The $330 million dollar man, the face of the franchise, the starting 3rd…… DH has started the season in the biggest slump and set a new MLB record.

After going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against the Rangers on Saturday and 0-for-4 with two more strikeouts on Sunday, Devers is now 0-for-16 with 12 K's on the year. He's the first MLB player on record to strike out at least 12 times in the first four games of a season.

What is the cause of all this? Is it because he demanded to play 3rd base and ultimately moved to DH for a better 3rd baseman in Alex Bregman? Probably, athletes nowadays have such fragile egos that even if they win games they get so butt hurt and shut down and that is exactly what Devers is doing right now. Setting records in the first weekend series of the season for all the wrong reasons.

Our guy, Billy Baseball, has said that you need to start thinking about trading Devers. Not because of the slump but because his demeanor and club house antics could be a distraction for this team moving forward. It would be another black eye for this franchise if moving him would add to the list of Betts and Bogaerts.

Just when this team has you invested and thinking about buying the Nesn package, they go ahead and do this the first weekend of the MLB season. Here’s to another 158 games of sad beers.
